SONY BMG will record their first disc with Charles Olivieri-Munroe in May with the Prague Philharmonic. The CD will feature cellist Sol Gabetta. A promotional tour is currently planned for late 2009.
March sees Charles Olivieri-Munroe conduct the Prague Philharmonia with Czech star harpist, Jana Bouskova in in the 8th edition of the International Harp Festival this year to be held in the city of Ostrava.

The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates 125 Years!
Charles Olivieri-Munroe with friend Swiss Clown Dimitri and Sir Simon Rattle following the day's concert events. It was the first time that both the philharmonic and a clown shared the podium to a sold-out audience.

Following his Paris debut in November Charles will conduct the 30th anniversary opening concert at Puy de Fou on June 14th. French President Sarkozy will attend and the Tour de France will kick off shortly after at the event. His Paris concert on November 6th was part of a three week tour with the Prague Philaharmonic which took place at the legendary Paris Olympia Concert and was televized and broadcast live on Radio Classique.

Following the resignation of the Czech Philharmonic's Music Director Zdenek Macal, Charles Olivieri-Munroe took over their first concerts outside of Prague at the Moravian Autumn Festival in Brno on September 28th. The concert featured the London Symphony Orchestra's concert master Carmine Lauri and Czech star cellist Michal Kanka playing Brahms' Double Concerto followed by Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony.

He had two appearances in the Chorin/Berlin Music Festival - July 15th with the North Czech Philharmonic with Mozart's Prague Symphony and Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony on the program and lead the Frankfurt Philharmonic in Mahler's Titan Symphony No.1.

Olivieri-Munroe's 4th visit to the Texas Festival "Round Top" conducting Penderecki's Second Symphony was hailed as one of the most unique concerts of the festival. He will return in June 2008 bringing his signature “Music Inspired by Shakespeare” program.

Harmonia Records have recently releasedon CD the orchestral music of Vasco Martins recorded by the North Czech Philharmonic conducted by Charles Olivieri-Munroe. This unique collection of works by the Cape Verdean composer is a study of his island's music. Martins is a recipient of the Tribune of UNESCO award in Paris.
